Dennis Stock


Dennis Stock (born July 24, 1928 in Bronx, NY – died on January 11, 2010 in Sarasota, Florida) is an American photographer who has built up an impressive collection of photographs including pictures of  many great masters of jazz such as Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday. For his legendary series The California Trip (1968), Dennis Stock traveled around and along the west coast of the United States, photographing the heyday of the hippie culture. He accomplished a genuine initiatory journey during which he captures many mythical images including photographs like the young woman dancing at the Festival of Venice Beach or  the famous Cox on the coast of San Diego where the sea merges with the sky.
